Isabel LaRosa, it’s a family affair
Concert: On a world tour, the Cuban-American singer stopped by the Botanique in Brussels (Belgium) on October 26, 2024.
When she first performed in the same venue in February 2018, Billie Eilish was not yet 18 years old. Born in 2004 in Maryland, the singer of "I'm Yours" waited until her twentieth birthday to tread the same boards. Often compared but nonetheless different, the two singers have each forged a special relationship with their respective brothers. Finneas O’Connell has always preferred the shadows to the spotlight and has taken on the role of producer for his little sister Billie Eilish. Thomas also supports his sister Isabel but does actually go on stage for a handful of tracks, offering an unexpected electric accompaniment.
Isabel LaRosa: brought up by Tik Tok
Still at the beginning of her career, the young singer of Cuban American origins belongs to the generation of artists brought up by Tik Tok. This was where she posted five to ten messages a day without managing to get too much attention at first. Until the moment she proposed "Haunted", composed with her brother. Today, she has a record contract with the multinational Sony and seems to be on her way to a successful career.
Alongside her own hits such as "Eyes Don't Lie", "Pretty Boy", "I'm Yours" or "Favorite", she tested some unreleased songs such as "Good Girl" and "Home". Not to mention a few covers such as Lady Gaga's "Poker Face".
Quite naturally, Isabel also opts for a form of sisterhood with the mostly female audience (who know the lyrics like the back of their hand) but also with the other singers of her generation whose songs she plays before going on stage: Billie Eilish (obviously), Chapell Roan, Charli xcx and Sabrina Carpenter whose choruses are also sung enthusiastically by the audience while waiting for the star to arrive.
