Russian woman gave birth to 69 children

Russian farmer Feodor Vassilyev is said to have had as many as 69 children with his first wife in the 18th century.

The woman, whose exact name got lost in the history books, first became pregnant in 1725 and gave birth to her last child in 1765. The couple had as many as 69 children, 67 of whom survived their first year of life. Sixteen twins, seven triplets and four quadruplets: the woman from Shuya, Russia, holds the record to this day for the most children brought into the world by the same woman. Busy times at the home of the Vassilyev family! The couple eventually broke up, and Feodor Vassilyev produced eighteen more children with his second wife.
