McDonald pitstop saves her from being kidnapped

A young girl's parents were convicted by a court of attempted kidnapping and sequestration. They wanted to force her into marriage. She took advantage of a stop at McDonald's to call for help.

A Belgian student was in a relationship with a man her family did not approve of. Although she had cut ties with her familym she was found by her relatives with the help of a private detective. On September 23, 2022, she was finally "kidnapped" by members of her family. During the journey to Turkey for a forced marriage, she took advantage of a stop at a fast food restaurant to cry for help.

Verdict

In a McDonald's in Hungary, she managed to communicate with an employee and ask her to contact the Belgian police for kidnapping. Good reflex. Police collaboration led to her release. In 2024, the courts finally convicted the parents and an aunt of sequestration. The verdict is as follows: one year in prison for the father and ten months suspended for the mother and aunt.
