War crimes: Russians finish off prisoners like cattle
The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office is investigating the execution of Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered to Russian military personnel last week near the village of Selidove in the eastern Donetsk region.
Kiev authorities have reported an increase in executions of prisoners of war since the beginning of 2022.
According to a statement released by the prosecutor’s office, the Russian servicemen responsible for the execution forced the two unarmed Ukrainians to lie face down on the ground and shot them at point-blank range with automatic weapons.
Ukraine’s ombudsman, Dmitry Lubinets, recently revealed that his office and the prosecutor’s office were aware of the execution of 102 Ukrainian prisoners of war since the start of the Russian invasion.
