Ukraine: Zelenskyy reveals how he will defeat Russia
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that his "victory plan" includes Ukraine's "unconditional" membership in NATO, along with specific requests for weapons.
The Ukrainian leader revealed part of his plan during a speech to Parliament, expressing his expectation that allied nations will respond positively to his requests to bring an end to the conflict with Russia.
"If we start moving according to this victory plan now, it may be possible to end the war no later than next year," he told lawmakers.
After presenting his plan to several Western leaders, the Ukrainian president shared some details with the public.
"Regardless of what [Russian President Vladimir] Putin wants, we must all change the circumstances so that Russia is forced to peace," he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently criticized the slow delivery of Western weapons over the past few months, as Russian forces continue to make gains on Ukraine’s eastern front.
From the Russian side, the Kremlin dismissed the plan as offering only temporary peace.
"The only peace plan there can be is for the Kyiv regime to realise the futility of the policy it is pursuing and understand the need to sober up," said Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson.
