Russians will pay…and it will hurt a lot
France has “recovered” 300 million euros of interest from frozen Russian assets to supply Ukraine with military equipment.
The amount in question only concerns the end of the fiscal year 2024. The Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, declared: "We are mobilizing the interests of frozen Russian assets to purchase military equipment for Ukraine. France has recovered 300 million euros for the end of 2024 alone". Before specifying that this amount had made it possible "to order 12 new Caesar cannons which will be delivered to Ukraine, as well as 155mm shells, Aster missiles, AASM guided bombs, firing points and Mistral missiles..."
Currently, 80 Caesar cannons have already been sent to Ukraine, 80 more will be delivered by the end of the year.
