Russian soldiers set civilians on fire
On Friday, October 25, the mayor of Kiev announced that a Russian drone had violently struck a residential tower in the capital, causing a fire, destroying apartments on three floors and killing at least one person and injuring two others.
"In the Solomianskyi district, the upper floors of a residential tower hit by an enemy drone are on fire. Emergency services are on the scene," Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kiev, said on Telegram. According to an AFP journalist present at the time of the attack, a drone was buzzing above the tower and violently crashed into it, causing a fireball, according France Info.
This isn't the first time that Ukrainian cities have been targeted by Russian drone strikes and missile attacks since the beginning of the conflict.
And as winter approaches, Kiev has asked for help from its allies to strengthen its air defenses, as the Russian military continues to intensify its attacks on energy infrastructure.
