Putin's new mercenaries
Kim Jong-un sold out his military for an illegal war of aggression against Ukraine. North Korean soldiers are mercenaries and “cannon fodder,” South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said.
He made the statement to parliament a day after the National Intelligence Service informed lawmakers that about 3,000 North Korean troops had been sent to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine.
“When troops are sent abroad, they usually respect their country’s chain of command and proudly carry out their activities in their military uniform, insignia and flag,” Kim said.
According to him, North Korean military personnel disguise themselves in Russian uniforms and operate under Russian military command without any operational authority.
