Putin prepares his revenge on the world
By organizing the BRICS meeting in Kazan, Russia, Vladimir Putin wants to demonstrate that he has never been so powerful and wants to flaunt it in front of his population and the West.
Today, there is no longer any political opposition in Russia. Putin has suppressed the opposition, they're dead, on the run or in prison.
Dissidents no longer have a say, the press is muzzled. The most turbulent military personnel like Prigozhin's Wagner militia have fallen into line or disappeared.
And in Kazan, the Kremlin's number 1 has a full agenda. Meetings with the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, the Indian president Modi, the Turkish president Erdogan and other world leaders and all these countries represent more than 3 billion inhabitants.
For Vladimir Putin, the goal of this summit is to say, look, "I have regained my influence. You, the Europeans, the Americans, you treat me like a pariah. Look, I have no shortage of allies. The rest of the world comes to my home, to Russia, to Kazan to talk with me."
And the cherry on the cake is that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is coming this Thursday for a bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin.
