Putin doesn't want to negotiate
The Russian government has responded to US President, Joe Biden, that talks on reducing the nuclear arsenal amid the war in Ukraine are impossible due to NATO's involvement in the conflict.
"In the conditions of the war against Russia with the indirect and even direct involvement of such nuclear powers as the United States, Britain and France, it's absolutely impossible to talk about it without linking this issue to all other aspects of security," Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said at a briefing.
Peskov was commenting on Biden's remarks on Sunday, in which the US president expressed Washington's readiness to start talks with Russia, China and North Korea "without preconditions, in order to reduce the nuclear threat".
"There is no benefit for our countries or for the world in torpedoing the progress made in reducing nuclear arsenals," Biden said.
