‘First step to a World War’: North Korea gets involved
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has claimed that North Korea is preparing to send 10,000 troops to fight alongside Russia in Ukraine.
Speculation about North Korea's official involvement has been growing this week, but the Ukrainian leader revealed on Thursday that Pyongyang plans to train and deploy thousands of soldiers to Ukraine.
"We know that North Korea is about to send 10,000 troops to fight against us," he said during a press conference in Brussels.
According to military intelligence, North Korean soldiers are already present in Russian-occupied territories, though their exact numbers remain unknown, as Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.
He warned that North Korea's involvement represents a "first step to a World War."
Moscow and Pyongyang have strengthened their ties in recent months, with the two nations signing a mutual defense pact. North Korea has also supplied ammunition and shells to its ally.
