He raises the risk of a world war
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, called the initiative to send North Korean troops to support Putin a dangerous escalation. North Korea continues to reject these accusations as "baseless rumors."
The Ukrainian president said on X:
"We have information about the preparation of two North Korean military units, potentially two brigades of about 6,000 soldiers each. This is a challenge, but we know how to respond to it. The important thing is that our partners don't turn a blind eye to this challenge."
Zelensky also wanted to show gratitude to his allies:
"I'm grateful to all the countries and leaders who have condemned North Korea's involvement in the war led by Russia. It's clear that in Pyongyang, as in Moscow, human life is not valued. But we all want to end this war, not prolong it. That's why we must, together, stop Russia and its allies. If North Korea can intervene in a war in Europe, it's clear that there hasn't been enough pressure on this regime."
Before concluding by calling for action and no more statements:
"If Russia can further extend and prolong this war, then all those in the world who don't contribute to forcing Russia to peace are in fact helping Putin to wage this war. The aggressors must be stopped. We expect a firm and concrete response from the world. Let us hope that it will not be limited to words."
