Finland and Sweden warn their inhabitants: “war is possible”
Putin launched his “special operation” in Ukraine and both countries joined NATO. Finland and Sweden are now preparing their populations for the possibility of war.
This week, Sweden sent out 5 million booklets entitled “Om krisen eller kriget kommer” (“In case of crisis or war”) to its inhabitants. 32 pages of explanations of the threats facing the country and recommendations in the event of armed conflict, cyber-attacks or natural disasters. Since the Second World War, this type of brochure has been sent out 5 times.
“We must prepare for the worst - an armed attack”
While the booklet doesn't explicitly mention Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it does insist that the military threat to Sweden has increased, reports France Info.
At the same time, Finland has launched a website with practical preparation tips, similar to the Swedish booklet.
