Betrayal: Kim Jong Un’s men are already deserting
Several North Korean soldiers are reported to have already deserted the front lines, just as Kim Jong-un sent his first contingent of troops to Russia.
North Korean forces have been deployed to the Russian regions of Kursk and Bryansk, where Ukrainian troops made significant advances several months ago, catching the Kremlin by surprise.
According to the Ukrainian TV channel Suspilne, citing intelligence sources, the Russian military is now hunting down the North Korean deserters.
South Korea reported that 1,500 North Korean soldiers were sent to Russia via the port of Vladivostok, before being assigned to various regiments already fighting on the Ukrainian front.
"The North Korean soldiers … are expected to be deployed to the frontlines as soon as they complete their adaptation training," said the National Intelligence Service.
The National Intelligence Service also revealed that the North Korean soldiers were given false identities, along with Russian uniforms and weapons.
"It appears that they disguised themselves as Russian soldiers to hide the fact that they were deployed to the battlefield," the agency said.
